Youth Program Grants

In addition to the scholarship program, BrooksBooth Youth Development’s (BBYD) mission is to provide support to various youth programs in areas such as athletics, education, and arts. The BBYD directors determine the recipients of BBYD’s youth program grants based on a variety of factors; however, our focus is always to stay local to the Washington area.

Please contact us for further information regarding our youth program grants (e.g., potential recipients).

2008 Recipients

First Place School – In carrying out our mission, our first youth program grant of $1,100 went toward the purchase of math and science textbooks for the 4th-6th grade classes at First Start School. First Start School is an agency devoted to educating and nurturing children whose families struggle with the risk or reality of homelessness. For further information please visit the First Place School website.

Local Youth Baseball Team – Our second youth program grant of 2008 went to a local youth baseball team that was in need of sporting equipment and team jerseys. With our grant of $250, the team was able to purchase the necessary equipment to have a successful season (and hopefully many seasons to come thereafter).

2010 Recipients

Foundation for Children in Need (FFCIN) – In light of the devastating earthquake in Haiti on January 12, 2010, BBYD donated $500 to FFCIN to help the relief fund for victims of the earthquake. For further information, please visit the FFCIN website.
